In what ways is it similar? Sure, he doesn’t smell great, and he’s technically been dead bloodsuvking quite some time, but if you’ve got a rampaging Hell-beast tearing up your street, or a portal to another dimension appearing in your bathroom, Dan’s your man. He is 19 and almost a virgin. The one negative comment that I would make, is that I don’t see this as a love story.

I mean, it wasn’t terrible, and I liked it, but if I had started with this book, I’d be in no hurry to return to his work. But it was just too unbelievable and straight-up silly.
He’s a fun, irreverent, creative writer whose sense of humor comes through on every page. Which, oddly enough, makes me feel old and humorless. I highly recommend this one for those of you who love the art of sarcasm and wit. There are so many surprises in this book.
That much is apparent. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior’s pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. Thomas Flood, a night manager at a grocery store, and makes him her minion. Romanticism has been either thrown in the corner of the closet or all together defenestrated, this is nuts and bolts of how this immortal stuff works and mythbusting what doesn’t. Moore has fun with the whole vampire thing, which brings me to another thing I liked about the book.
Jonathan Maberry Narrated by: The other part is the attempt at appearing to be an edgy outsider, sort of an Eddie Izzard type of effect. The many characters and situation are hilarious, made only more so for being set chrisotpher San Francisco where I live with recognizable locations and dialogue that is as fhristopher as it is plausable. His father must have never explained to him that if something is too good to be true it probably is.

Add some turkey-bowling grocery store clerks, SF police with a penchant for the dramatic, and a fixture of a SF homeless man the Emperor, thankfully of SF and not Oakland and you’ve blpodsucking a few hours worth of good fun. Bloodsucking Fiends is the story of several unlikable characters, some of whom are vampires, some of whom are idiots, and one based on an actual historical personage, although that connection is never mentioned so you might spend the entire book wondering if he’s supposed to be immortal too, and you’ll definitely spend the end of the book wondering why, since he was the only character who was even a little bit likeable, his final scene had to be so particularly shitty.
Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life View all 3 comments. Sometimes it helps to read a series in order. Being an aspiring writer, Tommy researches vampirism extensively and tests Jody with and without permission to find out which aspects of vampirism in the literature are christopherr turning into a bat, true or false?

Maybe I’ll be in a better mood the next time I vhristopher his work. A Love Story 1. This is the first book of his vampire trilogy though I accidentally read You Suck first because I didn’t realize it was a series. The offbeat humor which is trademark in Christopher Moore books kept me laughing. A bit odd and quirky.
I can’t wait to start on the next one: She is a vampire, which when she tells him is a little unsettling, bloodscuking then she has more sex with him. And Tommy is no better.
A Love Story and Bite Me But now that it’s concluded, I am thinking I just really like Christopher Moore’s twisted sense of humor and storytelling.
Tommy has left his home in the Midwest to experience life as a starving writer because according to his family, a writer must starve to be good.
At least there was no cliffhanger but I know the characters live on in 2 additional books so I am itchy to hear more. And there, beside the Taco Fineds, he kicked me in the nuts again.
