I wrote short stories. Especially in the early days of her cancer struggles, she writes a lot about loving and craving the attention from doctors and other people in the hospital. Do you want to be more removed? One benefit to Grealy of her many hospitalizations was that she got to skip so much school-time, so graely taunting-time.

As you might guess, I have no real answers to these questions. In the future, they would take her lower ribs and a bone from her leg and the lkcy tissue from her stomach and pour them all into her jaw, where they would gradually melt away into nothing.

What people want is to be seen as graceful, to be accepted, to be loved, to be appreciated. It is an affecting story, not only for her ability to see herself, but also for the mirror she has held up to society.
